Bringing Up Baby special effects

This is an excellent video someone put together of all the special effects used in Bringing Up Baby. Some of them you might recognize, but if you're like me you'll be surprised with most of it. It's really amazing what they were able to do then. Oh, and the Baby puppet cracks me up.

Director Howard Hawks had to find a way to keep Grant and Hepburn safely away from the leopard during the filming of the movie. I know that Hepburn was in one scene with the leopard (when we first see Baby). Grant refused to shoot scenes with the leopard because he apparently had a fear of large cats. Um, yeah. They'll claw your face off. I'm with you on that one, Cary.

Neat! I was always so impressed by that first scene with Baby and Katharine, rubbing its head on her dress. :)

I completely agree. I had caught a few of the effects before, but a lot of them are fairly seamless.

Yeah, most of them are pretty seamless. I had no earthly idea they used a glass partition in the scene when David first "meets" Baby.
